Coll de Rates
Four Acts
The Coll de Rates —
A Performance in Four Acts
This collection is conceived as a single ascent, expressed in four movements.
Each print stands alone, yet gains meaning when understood as part of the sequence.
Act I — Anticipation
The road curves gently into the forest.
The climb has not yet begun, but the body already senses what lies ahead.
Expectation, quiet focus, and the promise of effort.
Act II — Endurance
The gradient asserts itself.
The road narrows.
Progress becomes rhythmic, deliberate, sustained — until it is interrupted.
A wild boar stands in the road.
Unmoving. Unnegotiable.
This is the moment of resistance — the wall every ascent contains.
Not danger, but refusal.
The test of whether forward motion is earned, or abandoned.
Act III — Exposure
The landscape opens.
The rider is revealed against rock, wind, and sky.
Vulnerability, stillness, and absolute presence.
Act IV — Release
The descent begins.
Tension dissolves.
The valley reappears, wider and softer than before.
What was earned is given back.
About the Prints
Each image is presented as a limited studio print, framed with restraint and printed in monochrome to preserve depth, texture, and tonal clarity.
The garments are offered exclusively in white, allowing the work to read as an art object rather than graphic apparel. The scale and placement are intentionally museum-like — neither decorative nor loud, but quietly confident.
These are pieces to live with, not trend-driven designs.
