Animal Welfare — Our Goats and How We Care for Them
Our goats are not props or performers. They are active participants in every walk. As herd animals, goats are highly attuned to energy, movement, and presence. They respond instinctively to individuals within the group — walking beside those who need steadiness, resting when someone pauses, or playing with children in moments that bring shared joy. Over time, we have seen how their presence helps groups relax and cohere naturally. The goats remind us that leadership does not need to be loud, and that belonging can form without instruction.
A Thoughtful Choice Most of our herd consists of male goats. This is a deliberate and considered choice. Male goats are far less likely to be kept or valued, and we choose to give them a life shaped by companionship, purpose, and care. All of our goats live with us as part of the family, and they will remain with us for their entire natural lives. We are not a milk or breeding farm. We are a trekking company that walks with goats — and the relationships we build with them matter deeply. By walking together, day after day, the goats grow confident, calm, and connected — not just to us, but to the many people they meet along the path.

Daily Care and Welfare
The wellbeing of our goats always comes first.
Our goats live outdoors in the valley landscape they know best, with space to roam, rest, and interact naturally as a herd. They are never forced to walk and are free to rest or turn back at any point during a trek.
Each goat is individually known to us and receives regular health care, including routine veterinary checks, hoof care, and a balanced diet suited to their needs.
Because the goats live with us year-round, the relationship between people and animals grows gradually through familiarity and trust rather than training or performance.
If a goat shows signs of fatigue, distraction, or simply prefers a quiet day, they remain at home in the pasture rather than joining a walk.
Walking at the Goats’ Pace
Our treks follow the natural rhythm of the animals and the landscape.
Goats walk confidently over mountain terrain, but they set their own pace. Walks are gentle, unhurried experiences designed around observation, conversation, and connection with the valley environment.
This approach ensures the goats remain relaxed and engaged, and it allows visitors to experience the landscape in a calm and attentive way.
