Walking as a
Shared Experience
Our walks bring together people from many different backgrounds, cultures, and languages. Often, groups arrive as strangers — individuals carrying their own stories, pressures, and rhythms of life.
Within minutes of walking, something changes.
The steady pace, the sound of the goats’ bells, and the beauty of the surrounding landscape begin to draw people into a shared rhythm. Conversations soften. Laughter appears. Differences — of language, age, or nationality — become a source of curiosity and connection rather than separation.
Walking side by side, rather than face to face, creates space for people to be themselves.

The Goats as Companions and Teachers
Our Goats
Our goats are not props or performers.
They are active participants in every walk.
As herd animals, goats are highly attuned to energy, movement, and presence. They respond instinctively to individuals within the group — walking beside those who need steadiness, resting when someone pauses, or playing with children in moments that bring shared joy.
Over time, we have seen how their presence helps groups relax and cohere naturally. The goats remind us that leadership does not need to be loud, and that belonging can form without instruction.
A Thoughtful Choice
Most of our herd consists of male goats. This is a deliberate and considered choice.
Male goats are far less likely to be kept or valued, and we choose to give them a life shaped by companionship, purpose, and care. All of our goats live with us as part of the family, and they will remain with us for their entire natural lives.
We are not a milk or breeding farm.
We are a trekking company that walks with goats — and the relationships we build with them matter deeply.
By walking together, day after day, the goats grow confident, calm, and connected — not just to us, but to the many people they meet along the path.
You can meet each of our goats below and learn more about their individual personalities.

Sustainability as a
Lived Practice
Sustainability at Euro Goat Trekkers is not a statement; it is a daily practice.
Our goats are pack goats in training, and their intermittent grazing during walks helps to:
-
manage undergrowth
-
reduce the spread of invasive plant species
-
encourage the growth of native vegetation
By moving slowly and attentively through the land, we minimise impact while deepening understanding. We believe that meaningful experiences in nature naturally foster respect, care, and long-term stewardship.

An Evolving,
Human-Centred Project

Over the years, Euro Goat Trekkers has grown in response to what people experience and ask for.
Alongside our public walks, we now also offer:
-
longer guided treks
-
overnight mountain experiences
-
small-group and organisational retreats
All of these grow from the same foundation: walking, listening, and creating the conditions in which people can reconnect — with nature, with one another, and with themselves.
Our Invitation
Whether you join us for a short walk or a longer journey, you are invited into a shared experience shaped by care, presence, and respect for the land we walk upon.
Come as you are.
Walk at the pace of the goats.
And allow the landscape to do what it has always done best.
